Look y’all. We don’t have to look hard to find encouragement to entertain ourselves now days. And there is actually nothing wrong with that either. Whether it be social media, pop culture news, sports, or going out. The problem is overdoing it can lead to a lot of lost time concerning our growth and we don’t realize all the time that gets lost until it’s too late. Our goal is not just to add on years as we age, but to mature and evolve in all aspects of life, whether it's professionally, spiritually, personally, or in our relationships. A true person of influence is going to prioritize those 3 lanes. It is a must. True progress and development come from continuous growth and improvement, not just going through the motions as time passes by. This applies to every pursuit we choose to engage with, so if we have found ourself being a sucka to life’s clock and our progress, it’s time we take a deeper look into what’s holding us back.

Ask yourself the following question. Am I truly advancing and evolving concerning my ______, or am I stuck in a familiar cycle and routine? The most experienced people get all the opportunities huh? But experience is not just about the time you've spent doing or being involved with a thing. It's about gaining WISDOM, learning from your experiences, and actively working towards becoming a better version of yourself. It is you being able to teach others. Being able to spread your influence past the people you deal with personally every day. Do you have multiple years of genuine progress and active growth, or are you simply replaying the same year over and over again without significant development? In the realm of work, it's easy to fall into the trap of making time equal progress. Many individuals foolishly believe that years on the job automatically translate to expertise. However, like I just mentioned, true growth comes from seeking wisdom, learning from mistakes, and constantly striving for improvement.
Avoid getting too comfortable going through the motions. That’s the problem. There is so much comfort in the routine we have developed, but it’s not getting us the growth we need. Surround yourself with individuals who inspire and challenge you to reach new heights. This is super important. Who leaves you feeling inspired after interacting with them? Who energizes the inner you? With social media being such a huge part of our lives now days, your biggest influences don’t even have to be people you see in person everyday. Seek out those who challenge you out of your comfort zone, motivate you to keep growing, and congratulate your progress. These are the individuals who will really push you forward into the fullness of your being and prevent you from settling for being a sucka in mediocrity.

In a world that often prioritizes entertainment over progress, choose to be different. Embrace the journey of self improvement, seek wisdom over repetition, and commit to becoming the best version of yourself. This year has got to be different than all the others, so choose growth, wisdom progress, and umm oh yeah DON’T BE A SUCKA!
