L-O-V-E. We all have had our run-ins with this four letter word. But what is it really? Love isn't just a magical feeling you stumble on. It's a deliberate choice you make each every day. It is a conscious decision. Have you ever had your nose so open in “ love”, all for you to realize the person you are into is not quite as invested? It's because their "love" was all talk and no action. Simply lip service that sounds good. True love in a relationship is about intentional gestures that show you care, respect, and are committed.
While my focus here today is going to be on romantic relationships, please note this applies to both friends and family as well! Be intentional in all of your relationships.

Today, let's dive into the importance of showing love through intentional actions and how it can strengthen the bond between partners.
Peep this.. Your partner is telling you they love you every day but rarely showing it through their actions. It just isn't sitting right with your spirit. It's always “babe I love you”, but something is still missing. It's a clear sign that words alone don't cut it. Love thrives on consistent, intentional actions that demonstrate genuine care and consideration.

Intentional love for a couple means going the extra mile to make your partner feel valued and cherished. It's about surprising them with things they like, listening attentively when they need to talk, or planning a date night just because. These are tactics I’m learning to be true and useful every day in my own marriage, and I look to get even better. These intentional acts of love speak volumes and create a deep sense of connection and trust. Who doesn't like to get extra brownie points when they can? We need all of that!

Can a strong relationship be built on sweet words only? It's the daily gestures of love and support that solidify the bond between partners. By consistently showing your love through thoughtful actions and decisions, you build a foundation of mutual respect, understanding, and emotional security that strengthens your relationship.
There’s a scripture I’ve read that paints a great picture for this lesson. James 2:14-18 reads “ What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Man!!! That really does it. If I’m hungry, don’t just pray for me because it sounds good. FEED ME! This is how important it is to show and tell your love. You need both, not just one or the other.

Think back on moments when your partner's actions made you feel truly loved and appreciated. Reflect on how intentional displays of care, kindness, and support have deepened your connection and brought you closer to your loved one. By actively demonstrating your love through actual gestures, you nurture a relationship that can grow into something amazing.
Let love lead.
All of this to say love in a relationship isn't just about saying the right things. It's about doing them. By prioritizing thoughtful gestures over empty promises, you create a strong and lasting bond with your significant other.
Love is a verb, and it's time to put it into action in our relationships!
Adding the “show” to your “tell” pays a great dividend. Be sure to collect. Watch how your relationship will grow over the next several months as you choose to be more intentional.
